Otto’s Athens Vermouth
In 1850, the first Greek vermouth is created by Ioannis Voucher by appointment of the philhellene king Otto. Athenians kept Otto’s vermouth in theircellar and enoyed it fresh, cool and straight as an aperitif.
In 1960, Athens takes the path of a cosmopolitan European city. The drink at the time was of course Vermouth, enjiyed in a highball glass with ice & soda.
Today, Athens has become the favourite destination of the neo-bohemian creative crowd.Down town boasts boutique hotels, new age bars, underground speakeasies, sophisticated drinking places and life on the streets never seems to stop.The creativity of new age bartenders, the demand for authentic drinks with a strong past bring Athens Vermouth back in the spotlight!
